Refugio Mountain Retreat is a one-of-a-kind mountain jungle hideaway! Rejuvenate in fresh, mild year-round temperatures, during an unforgettable stay, including miles of private groomed hiking trails with 360 views; comfy beds; locally sourced coffee; a'la carte healing and relaxation treatments in our new open-air spa; seasonal exotic fruits & herbs, and pure spring water. So much to do, or NOT do: read, nature watch, practice yoga, or book a picture-perfect guided excursion to the best local rivers and waterfalls!
The Property
Situated at an elevation between 2,000 and 2,800 ft, the property encompasses 40 acres but is surrounded by hundreds of acres of pristine jungle and mountain ridges along with miles of private hiking trails with what many visitors have described as some of the “most scenic views in all of Puerto Rico.” We’ve also been told by hiking groups that we have some of the best privately maintained trails on the entire island. The average annual temperature is a perfect 72 degrees ranging from lows of 62 degrees in the winter to highs of 87 degrees in the summer.
Lodging
We have two separate units listed on Airbnb that can accommodate up to 8 people with a configuration of 3 queen beds, one full size sleeper sofa, and a comfortable cot. There are two full bathrooms plus you'll have access to the Spa which also includes two additional toilets and an outdoor shower.
